Brief Description Full time/part time Diploma in Quantity Surveying was commenced in April 2014 in the University College of Construction Technology. The objective of the course is to make students to understand how to measure and estimate building work, and how to cost, price and tender for projects. Learn to undertake the financial administration and cost control of projects under construction. and also gain the skills to become an adaptable team member, and develop the ability to deal with clients, builders, subcontractors and authorities. Also, the course opens an avenue for interested school leavers to acquire knowledge and skills required, to seek prospective job opportunities in the construction sector. This course has been structured according to the NVQ frame work. The Competency Standards and the training curricular of each occupation cover the latest industry requirement.

Aims & Objectives :

The Diploma in Construction Technology is aimed at producing technicians that are capable of performing basic functions in Construction Technology Practice both in private and public sector.  Diploma in Construction Technology (Civil Engineering) qualifies the student for employment with contractors, consultants, government departments and private organisations .They are responsible for planning, constructing ,supervision and maintenance of construction projects. The programme supports to get the skills and competencies required for the design and construction of civil engineering structures such as roads, railways, harbors, airports, buildings,bridges and dams. This course provides you with knowledge of the basic application of building drawing principles, various construction materials and services, carpentry and joinery and civil engineering construction.
